Good Child Music Studios is the resident home of producer / performer / composer Lawson White.
Lawson White is a record producer, performer, and Founder and President of Good Child Music. His studio is a part of Studio G Brooklyn.
At home in any musical setting, Lawson has worked with Gil Scott-Heron, My Brightest Diamond, Glenn Kotche (Wilco), Shakira, Santigold, Chromeo, A-trak, So Percussion, MNDR, Andrew Wyatt, Bryce Dessner (The National), Richard Russell, Amanda Blank, John Hill, Trouble Andrew, Alarm Will Sound, Christina Courtin, International Contemporary Ensemble, the Harlem String Quartet, composers Steve Reich, David Lang, Paul Lansky, Steve Mackey, Michael Gordon, Philippe Manoury, Benedict Mason, filmmakers Jonathan Parker, Jane Pollard / Iain Forsyth, and software companies Ableton and Native Instruments. He is a regular collaborator with New Amsterdam Records and Cantaloupe Music.
An active songwriter and composer, his original music can be heard on recordings by So Percussion/Matmos, the score for Jonathan Parker's film Untitled, and on TV commercials. A capable and active performer, Lawson has performed with Chromeo, Matmos, Zakir Hussain, Shugo Tokumaru, the Nashville Symphony, the Rochester Philharmonic, the Alabama Symphony, Grand Ole Opry star Connie Smith, Robert van Sice, and So Percussion and Alarm Will Sound, both of which he was a member until 2007.
Originally from Nashville, Lawson is the son of Nashville drummer and songwriter Wayne White. He has a BM in Music Performance and the Performer's Certificate from the Eastman School of Music, and an MM in Music Performance from Yale University.
