Welcome to Good Child Music Studios!!
We are available for bookings, and can handle all aspects of production for any type of music.
We believe that making great records is about people, not studios or gear.
We are located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Good Child Music Studios includes the finest recording, mixing and mastering equipment. Good Child President and Producer Lawson has carefully chosen the collection of equipment, most of which was acquired from Sony Music Studios NYC and Clinton Recording. The studio's centerpiece is the legendary David Smith Console - a one-of-a-kind 36-input, 12-bus Massenburg GML console with Neve Encore automation. Complementing the Massenburg/David Smith console is the classic Studer 962 14-channel mixer, which functions nicely as a sidecar for the GML desk (extending the input count to 50 channels), 16 channels of Neve 1081's, classical outboard equipment, 3 EMT plates, and a wide array of plugins. The studio offers 3 main types of recorders, Pro Tools HD (10 and 7.4), a Studer 827 24-track 2-inch analog tape machine, and a Studer A820 half-inch master recorder tape machine. Ableton Live Suite 9, Logic, Digital Performer and Pyramix are also available as front-end DAW solutions. The monitoring solution was modeled on that of Abbey Road Studios, featuring B & W 802 Nautilus monitors and Chord amplification.
The studio is completely equipped for tracking or mixing to picture, in stereo, 5.1 or 7.1 surround. A rich palette of instruments is available to clients, including a huge collection of percussion instruments and drum sets (Slingerland, Ludwig, Rogers, Adams, Musser, Valje, Grover, etc, etc), a vintage Hammond organ with Leslie, a Rhodes, toy pianos, various synthesisers, and a selection of guitar and bass amplifiers.
